PEDAG·REEL

Remove silence from a recording

Drop your audio or video file: dead air is cut automatically and you download a tighter voice track. Everything runs in your browser; your file is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Drop your file

WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM, or the audio track of an MP4 video, up to 30 minutes.

  2. Adjust if needed

The threshold is computed from your recording's background noise. You can set the minimum silence length and the pause to keep.

  3. Listen and download

Compare before and after, then download the result as WAV.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file sent to a server?

No. Processing happens entirely in your browser using its built-in audio features. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

How long a pause should I keep between sentences?

120 to 250 ms gives a natural, lively pace that suits short videos. Above 400 ms the delivery feels slower, closer to a lecture.

Does it also remove “um”s and botched sentences?

No: this tool only cuts silences. In the PEDAG·REEL Studio, your script is used as the reference to remove hesitations and retakes too.

Why is the result a WAV file?

WAV keeps full quality, which is ideal before editing. Your video or podcast editor will convert it if needed.
