Privacy policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
PEDAG·REEL turns an explanation recorded in your own voice into an animated vertical video. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights. It follows Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
Who is responsible
PEDAG·REEL is operated from Montréal, Québec, Canada. You can reach PEDAG·REEL's person in charge of the protection of personal information at hello@pedagreel.com, for any question or request.
What we collect
- Beta waitlist: your email, the topic of your videos if you share it, the page language and the sign-up date.
- Your account: your email, your name if you provide it, and sign-in information managed by our authentication provider.
- Using the Studio (beta): the scripts you write or have drafted, your voice recordings, their transcripts, the videos produced, your settings (style, handle shown in the video, logo if you add one) and a daily usage counter.
- Technical data: session cookies that keep you signed in, your IP address held briefly in memory to block abuse (too many sign-in or sign-up attempts), and the server logs needed to run the service.
We collect no payment data during the beta, and we use no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Why
- To give you beta access, manage your account and email you about it (sign-up confirmation, invitation, “your video is ready” notices).
- To produce your videos: transcribe and clean up your voice, write or adjust scripts, generate the animations and the MP4 file.
- To keep the service secure and running (sign-in, abuse prevention, fixing errors).
We don't use your information for anything else without your consent, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts the site, the Studio and your files on a server located in the United States (Ohio), so your data is stored outside Québec.
- Clerk handles account creation and sign-in (email, name, sessions). Clerk is based in the United States.
- Resend sends our emails (your address and the message content). Resend is based in the United States.
- Cloudflare manages our domain names and forwards the emails you send us.
- Anthropic (Claude) receives the text needed to write and edit your video: your topic and instructions, your script and its transcript. Your audio recordings are not sent to it: your voice is transcribed on our own server. Anthropic is based in the United States, so this text is communicated outside Québec, under its commercial terms and its privacy policy.
We share your information with no one else, unless required by law.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist: until your access opens or you unsubscribe, and no longer than 24 months.
- Account: while it's active. On request, we delete your account and your space (videos, voice, scripts) within 30 days.
- Projects and videos: while your access is active, or until you delete them. A deleted video goes to a trash folder emptied within 30 days.
- Sign-in session: 30 days. IP addresses for abuse prevention: a few hours, in memory only.
Security
Traffic with the site is encrypted (HTTPS). The Studio is only open to beta members, each account can only access its own space, and server access is limited to the operator. The server is backed up daily. If a confidentiality incident posing a risk of serious injury occurred, we would notify you and Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information.
Your rights
You can ask to access your information, have it corrected, receive it in a common format, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@pedagreel.com; we reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Cookies
Only strictly necessary cookies are used: those for signing in to the Studio (set by Clerk). No analytics or advertising cookies. The home page sets none.
Age
During the beta, the service is for people 18 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes in a significant way, we'll say so on this page and, if you're signed up, by email.
